Color Poem

"Transparent"

Smokey fumes that fly gray,
From bombs composed of black;
Transparent tears down Liesel's face
Caused by the pain of Rosa's smack.

Dominoes fell with dots of white,
The blood that dripped was a deep red;
Transparent air was not seen by Max
Like Jew's eaten stale dry bread.

Yellow was the early sun,
That blocked the sky of blue;
Germans souls are transparent
Like a window you can see through.

Hiding, fleeing, starving
Hunted, criticized, hunting, abusive
Over-powering, conquering, attacking
Over-confident, feared
Germans.
